Transient effects in stimulated light scattering

Transient stimulated scattering of light is treated numerically for situations with arbitrarily high conversion of laser into scattered light. New, transient effects are predicted and will be dicussed for scattering in the backward and in the forward directions. The computations are found to be in good agreement with time-resolved, experimental studies of stimulated Brillouin scattering in several liquids.
