Abstract:The effects of the components of Cu-Co catalysts on the activity for alcohol synthesis were studied. The formation of C2~C5 alcohols was mainly related to the Co component of catalyst. Cu remarkably increased the activity of Co, and restrained the formation of hydrocarbons. The crystalline of reduced Co was changed by the addition of Cu. XPS showed the existence of electron transfer between Cu and Co in activated state. The structural factor had important influence on the activity and stability of CuCo catalysts.
