Towards a transport theory of the quark-gluon plasma: Infrared divergences and scalar-meson theory

We consider the transport theory of an ultra-relativistic gas of particles. We study infrared divergences which may appear in a naive perturbative treatment in a massless scalar meson theory. We briefly discuss the potential applications of transport theory for ultra-relativistic nuclear collisions.
