| Abstract: | An efficient stereoselective total synthesis of (−)-pyrenophorol 1 is described. The key steps involved in this synthesis are hydrolytic kinetic resolution (HKR), MacMillan α-hydroxylation, Horner-Wadsworth-Emmons (HWE) reaction, and Mitsunobu cyclization. |
