Abstract: | The time dependence of the Poisson's ratio for low-pressure polyethylene has been studied by a method involving superposition of time and temperature (in the short-time range) and by recording creep curves for the longitudinal and transverse strains (under prolonged loading). It is shown that is not constant, its value changing from approx. 1/3 for short loading times to approx. 1/2 under prolonged loading conditions.Mekhanika Polimerov, Vol. 1, No. 3, pp. 52–56, 1965 |
