| Abstract: | The separation of fission strontium from solutions of prolonged cooled nuclear fuel has been performed using ammoniummolybdatophosphate (AMP) columns. The sorption mechanism of bivalent ions on AMP has been investigated by column and batch experiments. A pure ion exchange of Sr2+ for two H+ or NH4+ ions has been established. Conditions for the sorption and elution of fission strontium and other fission products on AMP columns are described. |
