Abstract: | A design optimization of the cross section of a high-speed rotor to pump liquid hydrogen was accomplished by means of photoelastic evaluations and model tests. The photoelastic models were rotated in the field of a polariscope with stroboscopic light synchronized to this rotation to evaluate the stresses. Differential radial growths were measured from model tests. |
