Abstract: | At small velocities, every universal motion can be performed in a fluid whenever the constitutive equation approaches a most general linear model. Both the celebrate theorems of Appell, Cauchy, Helmholtz, Kelvin hold true when dealing with the universal motions. Here the theorem of Bernoulli admits four generalisations. At last, the Helmholtz–Rayleigh theorem about dissipation may be regarded as defining the universal motions. To cite this article: M. Bouthier, C. R. Mecanique 332 (2004). |
