| Abstract: | A rather simple method of lead salt diode laser fabrication is described. The optimization of the diffusion process forming the pn-junction is especially discussed with regards to the various carrier concentrations of the as-grown crystals. Liquid nitrogen cooled lead salt diode lasers of the described type meet all demands of a laser based air pollution monitoring device. |
