Abstract: | This work studies the effect of the biochemical molecular layer on the quality factor of guided-mode resonance (GMR) filter of an ultrasensitive label-free biosensor. A GMR biosensor with a narrower bandwidth has a higher sensitivity but requires much higher accuracy in its fabrication process. In this study, we have managed to present a GMR filter with a narrow bandwidth that requires less precision by controlling the thickness of the biochemical molecule layer, which increases the Q factor by up to three times. |
