Abstract: | This study investigates the compatibility of aluminum flat-plate heat pipes (FPHPs) used for filling acetone as a working fluid after long-term operation of and the non-condensable gas (NCG) exhausting process. The rate of NCG generation substantially decreased after conducting the NCG exhausting process, proving the compatibility of acetone with the aluminum FPHPs. However, the thermal resistance was not enhanced because hydroxide bayerite (Al(OH)3) was generated as a product of the reaction. |
