| Abstract: | A simple and efficient stereoselective linear approach to the total synthesis of (?)‐pinidinone has been accomplished starting from propane‐1,3‐diol, and employing Maruoka asymmetric allylation and Grubbs' olefin cross‐metathesis as the key steps. |
