| Abstract: | The r-function of the Kadomstev-Petviashvili (KP) hierarchy can be written in the generalized Wronskian determinant form, in which the generating functions satisfy a couple of linear differential equations. The author introduce a new method to reduce the KP hierarchy, generated by the gauge transformation Tn-k, to the M (< N = n + k)-component constrained Kadomstev-Petviashvili hierarchy. For the above reducing procedure, the sufficient conditions are obtained, then it is turned into be the constraints on the two kinds of generating functions. Finally, a concrete example is shown. |
