Polymer friction at low velocities and high loads

The results of an investigation of the dependence of the coefficient of polymer friction on the normal load and the chemical purity and roughness of the contact surfaces are described. It is shown that in dry friction for a series of polymers the surface deformation is predominantly forced-elastic.
