| Abstract: | Rearrangements of o- and p-quinol-acetates and of p-quinols under conditions of the Thiele-reaction are described. To investigate the mechanism of these reactions rearrangements have also been carried out in diacetyl-sulphide. The differences between the reactions of p-quinols and p-quinol-acetates are being discussed in some detail. The results of action of acids upon p-toluquinol and its acetate are in accordance with our conceptions on the course of other reactions mentioned in this paper. |
