| Abstract: | A new method has been developed for the determination of chromium(III), depending on its oxidation to chromium(VI) at room temperature by treatment with 50-100% excess of ammonium hexanitratocerate(IV) in 1.0M nitric acid medium. The reaction is complete within 15 min. The unreacted cerium(IV) is titrated potentiometrically with sodium oxalate. |
