| Abstract: | Enantiomeric syntheses of (-)-homopipecolic acid and (-)-pelletierine have been achieved by chiral resolution of tropanol followed by Baeyer-Villiger oxidation. The methodology provides a practical route for the synthesis of optically pure piperidines. |
