The study of peracids thermal decomposition in hexachloroacetone shows that the pair which originates CIDNP signals on the obtained products is not $\text{R}{}^{\mathrm{..}}\text{OH}$ but $\text{R}{}^{\mathrm{..}}\text{CCl}{}_3$.
