Abstract: | Gadolinium iron garnet Gd3Fe5O12 has been studied near the compensation point T cm by Mössbauer spectroscopy. It has been shown that the remanent magnetizations of the ferrite sublattices abruptly increase near T cm. The phenomenon has been explained by the increase in the domain sizes in the ferrite with approaching T cm. The Mössbauer spectroscopy can be used to investigate the magnetization and magnetization reversal processes in individual sublattices of a ferrimagnet. |
