Abstract:Reactions of ethanolic disodium hexacyanobutenediide with the complexes L2MCl2 (M = Ni, L2 = 2,2′-bipyridyl, o-phenanthroline, or 1,2-bis(diphenylphosphino)-ethane; M = Pt, L = triphenylphosphine or triphenylarsine) give products of stoichiometry L2MC4(CN)6; the nature of these products is discussed.
