Circular Chromatic Indices of Regular Graphs

Abstract:The circular chromatic index of a graph G, written urn:x-wiley:03649024:media:jgt21757:jgt21757-math-0001, is the minimum r permitting a function urn:x-wiley:03649024:media:jgt21757:jgt21757-math-0002 such that urn:x-wiley:03649024:media:jgt21757:jgt21757-math-0003 whenever e and urn:x-wiley:03649024:media:jgt21757:jgt21757-math-0004 are adjacent. It is known that for any urn:x-wiley:03649024:media:jgt21757:jgt21757-math-0005, there is a 3‐regular simple graph G with urn:x-wiley:03649024:media:jgt21757:jgt21757-math-0006. This article proves the following results: Assume urn:x-wiley:03649024:media:jgt21757:jgt21757-math-0007 is an odd integer. For any urn:x-wiley:03649024:media:jgt21757:jgt21757-math-0008, there is an n‐regular simple graph G with urn:x-wiley:03649024:media:jgt21757:jgt21757-math-0009. For any urn:x-wiley:03649024:media:jgt21757:jgt21757-math-0010, there is an n‐regular multigraph G with urn:x-wiley:03649024:media:jgt21757:jgt21757-math-0011.
