| Abstract: | Formulas for calculating the spectral profile of the Faraday rotation in the vicinity of the resonance with an atomic transition in the presence of fine and hyperfine structure are presented. Some specific features of the nonresonance Faraday effect for alkali-metal atoms are considered. Translated from Trudy Fizicheskogo Instituta im. P. N.
