Homogeneous polyblend of poly(vinyl chloride) with α-methylstyrene–methacrylonitrile–ethyl acrylate terpolymer

Blends of poly(vinyl chloride) (PVC) and α-methylstyrene–methacrylonitrile–ethyl acrylate (AMS-MAN-EA) terpolymer have been prepared and properties studied. The polyblends are unusual inasmuch as they are transparent and possess a single glass transition; therefore, they are homogeneous. The single T_g suggests a single-phase system. The polyblends exhibit rarely observed polymer–polymer compatibility.
