| Abstract: | When trans-cinnamyl aldehyde was used as a substrate of the Wittig reaction, instead of the olefination product, formation of four products with (E)-1,3-diphenylprop-2-en-1-ol and cinnamyl alcohol was observed being quite unexpected ones. The possible mechanism of this unusual reaction has been considered. |
