Abstract: | Summary The roots ofFerula kopetdaghensis Eug. Kor. have yielded five coumarins — umbelliferone and four new compounds (kopetin, kopeodin, kopeolin, and kopeoside). On the basis of NMR, mass, and IR spectroscopy, derivatives, and transformation products, the structures of two of the new coumarins kopeolin and kopeoside have been established. It has been shown that kopeolin is a derivative of farnesiferol C and kopeoside is kopeolin 3-O--D-glucoside.Institute of the Chemistry of Plant Substances, Academy of Sciences of the Uzbek SSR.
