Nuclear fission of Ra and Th isotopes |

| Abstract: | The fission modes and the corresponding nuclear shapes of Ra and Th isotopes are considered. It is shown that the fission of 216Ra is expected to be predominantly symmetric, in accordance with recent experimental findings. |
