Abstract:Alternating copolymerization of maleic anhydride (MA) withepichlo-rohydrin (ECH) was investigated by using Nd(naph) 3-Al(i~Bu)3 as catalyst, which was found to be a good catalyst for the alternating copolymerization of MA with ECH. The structure of copolymer product was characterized by IR and NMR. The kinetic studies indicate that the copolymerization reaction is first order with respect to monomer concentration and 0.5 order to catalyst concentration.
