| Abstract: | Condensation of nitrobenzaldehydes with 3-acetyl-4,6-dimethyl-2(1H)-pyridone gives rise to chalcones with high yield. Condensation of the close analogs of 3-acetyl-4,6-dimethyl-2(1H)-pyridone containing ethyl and benzyl radical was established to give stable products of aldol condensation, the corresponding alcohols, under the same conditions. |
