A new reagent for incorporating the 2‐(1‐adamantyl)‐2‐propyloxycarbonyl protecting group into amines

A new reagent to incorporate the 2‐(1‐adamantyl)‐2‐propyloxycarbonyl (Ad‐POC) protecting group into amines, 2‐(1‐adamantyl)‐2‐propyl p‐nitrophenylcarbonate, was prepared in two steps from the commercially available 1‐adamantylcarbonyl chloride.
