Real-time one-step incoherent level slicing of optical images

A modification of a real-time subtraction setup enables the performance of the level slicing operation of optical images. The operation is done with incoherent sources for both read-in and read-out illuminations. The enhanced (sliced) intensity level is displayed on top of a uniform background level.
