Abstract: | A new capillary method of measuring surface tension under the conditions of a fast surface renewal due to evaporation is considered. At the highest rates reached for n-pentane and water evaporation (0.6 and 0.14 kg m–2 s–1, respectively), the deviations of from its equilibrium values may be explained by a change in the meniscus shape under the conditions of intense heat exchange. |
