Abstract: | The probability of a pycnonuclear reaction in the synthesis of light elements depending on the mass density of the material and the magnetic field strength for a specified chemical composition of the medium is calculated. It is shown that magnetic fields with H1014 G considerably reduce the probability of pycnonuclear reactions for light elements. The threshold values of the density for which specified nuclei disappear from the composition of the magnetized material after a time of 107-109 years forming heavier nuclei as a result of pycnonuclear reactions are estimated. It is also shown that intense magnetic fields shift the threshold at which the light nuclei disappear towards higher densities.Translated from Izvestiya Vysshikh Uchebnykh Zavedenii, Fizika, No. 3, pp. 22–27, 1980.The authors thank V.
