| Abstract: | 5-(1,3-Dioxolan-2-yl)-2-furanylzinc bromide was easily prepared by the direct insertion of active zinc to 2-bromo-5-(1,3-dioxolane)furan under mild conditions. Of interest, the resulting organozinc was successfully coupled with aryl halides and acid chlorides affording the corresponding coupling products in good to excellent yields. |
