Abstract: | A crystal of Nd3+:Sr6GdSc(BO3)6 with the dimension of φ20×30 mm3 was grown by Czochralski method. The grown crystal was characterized by X-ray diffraction and DSC analysis. The DSC analysis showed that the crystal congruently melt at 1306.7°C. The absorption and emission spectra of Nd3+:Sr6GdSc(BO3)6 were investigated. The absorption band at 806 nm has a FWHM of 13 nm. The absorption and emission cross-sections are 2.33×10−20 cm2 at 806 nm and 1.58×10−19 cm2 at 1062 nm, respectively. The luminescence lifetime τf is 75 μs at room temperature. |
