Abstract: | Glycine solutions were studied by conductometric and viscosimetric methods. Different character of the concentration dependences of the electrical conductivity and viscosity in the acid and alkaline solutions of the aminoacid is revealed. The experimental concentration dependences of the electrical conductivity and viscosity of the glycine alkaline solutions show extremes. It is suggested that the solvent structure is decomposed under the action of the glycine zwitterions in the 0.001 M NaOH + glycine + H2O at the aminoacid concentration up less than 0.025 M; further increase in the aminoacid concentration leads to new hydrogen bonds formation between water dipoles and the zwitterions. This suggestion is corroborated by calculations based on the Jones-Dole equation. |
