Solute transport and separation in nanochannel chromatography

Abstract:An analytical model is developed to study the solute transport and separation in pressure-driven liquid flow through cylindrical nanochannels. The flow-induced streaming potential is found to significantly affect the solute speed, retention and dispersion in nanochannel chromatography. These effects are sensitive to the solute charge, and found to be mainly dependent on an electrokinetic "figure of merit".
