Abstract:The oxidation of the salt[η ̄5EtO_2CC_5H_4Cr(CO)_3]Na with Fe2(SO_4)_3/HAc /H_2O mixture gives.rise to the singly bonded dimer[η ̄5EtO_2CC_5H_4Cr-(CO)_3]_2 with the Cr-Cr distance of 3.255(2).It was characterized by IR, ̄1H NMR and MS spectroscopies as well as X-ray diffraction method.C_22H_18Cr_2O_10,M_r=546. 37.monoclinic,space group P2_1/c ,a=9.434 (2),b=12.080(2),c=10.329(4),β=105.69(2)°.V=1133(1).Z=2.D_x=1.60g.cm ̄-3,μ=9.90cm ̄-1;F(000)=556.final R=0.045 for 1344 observed reflections.
