Abstract:
Computational and experimental methods for determining the effective surface energy density under the dynamic loading conditions are proposed. The results are presented for two grades of steel and titanium alloy VT-6S in the submicrosecond range of the loading pulse duration. The resultant values of the effective surface energy density are compared with the results obtained by other authors.
