Abstract:The dependence of absorption coefficient on osci'allator strength and density was described.According to Boltzman's distribution, the temperature of atomic vapour was derived from absorbances of two resonance wavelengths. This method of measuring temperature is efficient to eliminate the deviation between vapours and heaters. The effect of line shape on the measurement was discussed and a approximate way was given. The demands on atomic parameters were also discussed and four elements have been analyted.
