Abstract:Admittance spectra of quartz crystal resonance were measured in situ in the electrochemical process of Fe(CN)3-6/Fe(CN)4-6 on Au electrode in 10 mol/L Na2SO4 aqueous solution using an electrochemical quartz crystal impedance system. Changes in motional resistance R1 were well reversible with potential, but resonant frequency f0, series resonant frequency fs and parallel resonant frequency fp had significant rising drifts besides somewhat reversible changes with potential. It is concluded that changes in R1 were caused by variations in solution density and viscosity near electrode surface, but frequency responses resulted from both changes of solution properties and corrosion of Au electrode in anodic process.
