| Abstract: | The post-buckling behavior of a column made of a material with cubic constitutive equation, σ = E1? + E2?3, is unstable for a range of values of E2. In these cases, the imperfection sensitivity is qualitatively described using catastrophe theory. A numerical method is given to compute the post-buckling deflections. |
