| Abstract: | A method of synthesizing 2-acetylamino-7-hydroxy-6-phenylthio-3-carbethoxybenzob]thiophenes from 6-phenylthio-7-oxo-4,5,6,7-tetrahydrobenzob]thiophenes has been developed.
