Correction of the mark–houwink–sakurada equation in the low-molecular-weight range

A relation is proposed which gives the error in determination of molecular weights of polymer samples using the extrapolation of the Mark–Houwink–Sakurada equation into the low-molecular-weight region. The error is directly related to the exponent α of the Mark–Houwink–Sakurada equation and the relation is the same for a number of polymer + solvent systems.
