Abstract: | With some simplifying assumptions, theoretical calculations are made of the oscillation spectrum of a self-excited oscillator with a soft limiting cycle under the nonresonance parametric or force excitation of a double-frequency harmonic signal. The signal is studied when the frequency of the excitation varies inside the band of multiple synchronization. Synchronous conditions are shown to be established only because the frequency of the self-excited oscillator is pulled without quenching of the self-oscillations. The experiment, which was performed in the radio-frequency range with an excitation multiplicity of n = 2, well confirms the conclusions of the theory.Translated from Izvestiya Vysshikh Uchebnykh Zavedenii, Fizika, No. 9, pp. 38–42, September, 1976.The author expresses his gratitude to Reader I.
