Abstract:Atom clusters, aggregate consisting of a few to thousands of atoms, have many strange properties, such as unusual chemical reactivity/catalytic activity, quantum size effect, dras-tic surface-to-bulk ratio, even-odd property, magic number, etc. These particular features have focused the at tention of many scientists in different fields, such as, catalysis chemistry, meteorological physics, environmental chemistry and photographic science. Great progress has been made in a effort to correlate the cluster structure with performance. The studies on silver clusters have been confined to clusters in silver vapor or in supersonic beams in vacuo[1], in matrix at low temperature[2], in zeolite[3] and in photographic plates[4]. In aqueous solution, silver clusters were made using the method of 60Co γ-radiolysis or pulse radiolysis by high energy electrons.
Keywords:glycine  silve cluster  stabilizing capacity  latent image formation
