Abstract:	In this paper we use the theory of compensated compactness coupled with some basic ideas of the kinetic formulation by Lions, Perthame, Souganidis & Tadmor [LPS, LPT] to establish an existence theorem for global entropy solutions of the nonstrictly hyperbolic system (1).
