Abstract: | Summary An HPLC method was developed for determination of amoxicillin, penicillin G, penicillin V, ampicillin, oxacillin, cloxacillin, nafcillin and dicloxacillin in serum from pigs and cattle. Serum was cleaned up by solid-phase extraction (SPE), ultra-filtered and derivatised. The method was linear in the range tested up to 2000 ng mL−1 of individual penicillins in serum. Limits of detection were 11–14 ng mL−1. Mean recoveries were 90–103% in the range 20–2000 ng mL−1. The relative repeatability, standard deviation was <10% at 20 ng mL−1 level and <6% in the range 100–2000 ng mL−1. |
