| Abstract: | Increasingly pronounced hydrocarbon character is exhibited by C6H6B12, the first unsubstituted hexacarbaborane, and CH3C5B7H12, the first cluster pentacarbaborane. These compounds shed light on the structural dichotomy between open hydrocarbon skeletons and polyhedral borane frameworks for high-carbon carboranes. |
