| Abstract: | The oxidation of 3-bromo-and 3-iodoacenaphthene has given 3-bromo-and 3-iodoacenaphthenequinones. The condensation of 5-bromo-, 3-bromo-, and 3-iodoacenaphthenequinones with 3-hydroxythionaphthene and its derivatives has yielded indigoid dyes, and the main light absorption maxima of these dyes have been determined. |
