Abstract:
The extraction of Ni(II) from nitrate medium of ionic strength 2.0 mol · dm−3 by n-dodecanoic acid (HA) dissolved in toluene has been studied at 293 K. Distribution measurements of the metal ion in a wide range of pH and carboxylic acid concentration have been performed. Experimental data, treated by different graphical methods as well as numerically by the LETAGROP-DISTR program, have been explained assuming the presence in the organic phase of the species NiA2, NiA2(HA)2, NiA2(HA)2]2 and NiA2(HA)2]3. Equilibrium constants for the different extraction reactions are given.
